The Annapolis Area Intergroup Council meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month, except in the months of June and August. All members of the Fellowship are welcome to attend.

Groups are encouraged to elect an Intergroup Representative (IgR) to serve as the voice of their group at Council meetings.

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

The meeting was opened at 7:30 pm with a reading of the 12 Traditions. The following people were in attendance:

Secretary’s Report: Minutes from the July 19th  meeting were read, and accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report: Karl R. has stepped down, and Tim H. has accepted the position. A written report was submitted.  Group contributions continue to be steady. Contributions may increase during the holiday season. YTD, the total income is $28,582.18, and expenses are $32,817.55, creating a deficit of $4,235.37. Literature expenses has increased, as the cost of books have increased .

Chair’s Report: Nominations for the positions of the Executive Committee start in October. Nominees need to attend only one of the IGR meetings in October and November. Voting will be at December’s IGR meeting. 4 positions are available: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. Job descriptions are in the by-laws.

Vice-Chairs Report: None. Position currently vacant.

Activities: Dan M. reported for Marilyn that there are a few open slots at the Red House. Take this information back to the home groups, and encourage people to volunteer for these slots.
The Soberfest had a good turnout. Proceeds continue to come in. Proceeds exceded expenses. There is a DVD of the Soberfest. Next year’s date is 9/1/12.
There is a workshop on October 1st, “Cooperation through Service”,from 9:30 am- 3 pm. Flyers were distributed. There also will be a Gratitude Dinner will be on November 19th from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. There will be 160 seats available, and will be held at the United Methodist Church in Crofton. Registrations keep coming in for the January 2012 Convention in Annapolis. There are 500 seats available. Committees have been formed, and volunteers are needed. The next meeting is October 9th at 4 pm at the Sheraton in Annapolis. There may possibly be a New Year’s Eve dinner/dance. Details to come.

Literature: A large book order was placed, and is starting to be filled. There were 100 new Where & Whens printed.

Outreach: This position is vacant, and needs a volunteer to take over this position.

PI/CPC: Maura H. submitted a one page proposal to move the management and production of the AA play under the PI/CPC committee of the AAIG, and to amend the 2011 AAIG budget by $2800 to fund the expenses associated with management and production of the play. The play will be in February, and will not include a dinner. There will be seating for 350 people. The Intergroup Council voted on this proposal, and it was approved.

Treatment/Corrections: 2 meetings have been held so far at Sarah’s House, a homeless shelter at Fort Meade. The Lighthouse shelter is self-sufficient. Meetings are going well at Serenity Acres and Jennifer Road. The Hope House has 2 openings: the 3rd Friday of the month at 8:30 pm, and the 3rd Sunday of the month at 4 pm. Please take this information back to home groups.

Website: The W&W will be produced from the online database. The meetings printed vs. the meetings online continue to be out of synch.  The database will continue to fix this. Meeting changes are now an insert in the W&W.

Old Business: Dave R. stated that the Intergroup Conference Calls continue to be held the last Tuesday of the month.

New Business: The Alcathons have a budget of $100 each. Help is needed to set up and coordinate these meetings. There will be Alcathons on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s. The schedules will be on the website. It was encouraged to take this information back to home groups, in order for the Alcathons to have a sponsor.
